Campaign Kicks Off with a Fired Up Crowd!

Published by Clingan for Delegate on August 18th, 2011 - in News
For too long the middle class been quietly eroded by a Virginia legislature that has failed to adequately address stagnant wages, stagnant traffic, and stagnant quality of life. This inaction has increasingly taxed family life in Northern Virginia. On Saturday I was joined by over 60 of my supporters. They showed up to hear my vision for the 67th, and to help take it back from the Tea Party. Fired up by my energizing speech, and by Chuck Caputo’s enthusiastic endorsement, many chose to donate or volunteer for this weekend’s Canvass Kick-Off at the head quarters. A great start to what promises to be a hotly contested race to take the 67th back from the Tea Party. You can also see how you can help me by visiting our donations page or our volunteer page.

A special thanks to Chuck Caputo for his endorsement. Thanks also to Senators Peterson, Marsden and Howell, and Delegate Sickles. Thanks as well to School Board Member Ilryong Moon, and School Board Candidates Ted Velkoff and Ryan McElveen. A final thanks to our donors for the added financing in response to my speech and the volunteers who signed up to help keep the campaign moving forward!

Clingan Campaign Posts Strong Fundraising Totals

Published by Clingan for Delegate on July 10th, 2011 - in News

CHANTILLY – Today, the Clingan for Delegate campaign announced that it had raised nearly $20,000 to unseat one-term Republican incumbent Jim LeMunyon.

Over seventy -five donors have now contributed various sums to Clingan’s campaign, from $5 to over $1,000 in only a two week period.  Clingan’s fundraising represents approximately $2,000 raised per day.  Clingan looks to be building momentum and reports hearing genuine dissatisfaction with LeMunyon’s close ties to Richmond lobbyists and their downstate agenda.

“I am honored and encouraged by the early support I’ve received, and by the positive reception I’ve found as I go door-to-door in our community.  Clearly, voters in Northern Virginia are searching for stronger representation that remains focused on their needs.   I look forward to a spirited debate on the issues that affect Northern Virginians every day.”  Clingan said.

“Jim LeMunyon is one of the most vulnerable incumbents in Northern Virginia.  The 67th District is one of our most important races and the House Democratic Caucus looks forward to Eric Clingan joining us in Richmond next January,” said House Democratic Caucus Chairman Ken Plum.
Eric Clingan is an attorney and ten-year resident of Fairfax County who has lived in Chantilly since 2005.  He is a small business owner as the founding partner of Clingan Tull PLLC, and previously served as a Public Defender in Fairfax County.  Clingan is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served overseas.
